Restylane® & Perlane®

Restylane and Perlane are safe and natural cosmetic dermal fillers used to restore volume and fullness to the skin and reduce facial wrinkles. They can be used to reduce the wrinkles around the mouth, frown lines, nasolabial folds, cheeks and jowl lines. Restylane can also be used to create fuller lips. These materials are resorbable and will disappear in about 6 to 9 months. Restylane and Perlane are made from hyaluronic acid, which is a disaccharide of glucuronic acid and N-acetylglucosamine. Hyaluronic acid is a substance found naturally in the human body. Restylane and Perlane are fully biocompatible and no allergy testing is required before use. It is safe and has been FDA approved in the United States since 2003. The hyaluronic acid in Restylane is hydrophilic or "water loving." As hyaluronic acid gradually degrades, each molecule binds to more water and over time, the same volume can be maintained with less hyaluronic acid. Restylane and Perlane are both made from hyaluronic acid but have different formulations. Perlane is slightly thicker and indicated in different areas than Restylane.

Restylane Procedure

Restylane, redefining beauty

To reduce the discomfort associated with filler injections, you will first have the areas numbed with a local anesthetic. Ice will also be applied to reduce any residual discomfort and to help decrease the swelling. The filler will then be slowly placed into the deep dermis of your skin to reduce your wrinkles.

Post Operative Instructions

After your treatment, you might have some redness or swelling. This will normally last a few days. Sunbathing should be avoided until any redness or swelling disappear.
